The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday that Kent State's Ines Delpech was named the Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts this past weekend.
Delpech helped Kent State go 2-0 on the weekend and clinch an outright MAC Championship. On Friday at Ohio she helped limit the Bobcats to just five shots with just three on-goal as the Flashes won in double-overtime. Delpech played the full 88 minutes of that game, never leaving the field. In multiple corner opportunities in overtime, she helped set up the eventual game-winner as she had the initial strike on that attempt. She also recorded a defensive save that helped the game enter overtime and scored the first goal of the game on a corner play. Despite a quick turnaround, she logged a full 70 minutes on Saturday in another victory. She led a defense that limited the Bald Eagles to only seven shots with again only three shots on goal.
This is the second-straight MAC Player of the Week honor for Delpech. The Flashes will conclude the regular season Sunday at home for Senior Day before hosting the MAC Tournament November 4-5.
