
Norberg Garners MAC East Offensive Player of the Week Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohioย โ Kent State senior middle blocker Drew Norberg has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Norberg led Kent State with 34 kills (3.09/set) and a .409 hitting percentage and was named to the Comfort Inn-vitational All-Tournament Team for helping Kent State to a 3-0 record this past weekend. Norberg, who hit at least .353 in all three matches, added seven total blocks. Her best performance of the weekend was vs. Coppin State on Saturday, as she posted 16 kills and four total blocks.
This is the second MAC East Offensive Player of the Week award for Norberg, who also received the honor following the final week of the 2015 season. She has earned all-tournament team honors in back-to-back weekends and has been the Golden Flashes' most consistent offensive performer over the past seven matches, averaging 3.33 kills per set and hitting at a .369 clip during that span.
Kent State (7-6) opens the Mid-American Conference schedule at the M.A.C. Center this weekend against Buffalo at 7 p.m. on Friday. Rival Akron visits on Saturday with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m.
