Stypinski Named MAC Gymnast of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Junior Rachel Stypinski has been named Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Stypinski scored a 39.400 to win the all-around title at Kent State's quad meet Saturday in Columbus that featured #11 Michigan, #22 Ohio State and Washington. She also won the individual bars title with a score of 9.875 and was runner-up on both beam (9.875) and floor (9.925). The junior currently ranks first in the conference in all-around, bars, beam and floor while also ranking in the Top 20 nationally in each event.
Kent State will be in action at the M.A.C. Center to host Western Michigan on Friday at 7 p.m. for its first MAC competition of the season.
