
Field Hockey to Play Final Road Match Against Central Michigan

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State University field hockey team (5-9, 2-1 MAC) will play its final road match of the regular season Friday, facing the Central Michigan Chippewas (0-14, 0-3 MAC) at 3 p.m.
Kent State is coming off a 2-1 road victory over Ball State last week, putting the Flashes at 2-1 in Mid-American Conference play. The Flashes won on goals from Laila Richter and Ines Delpech, who would go on to be named Defensive Player of the Week.
The victory put the Flashes in third place in the MAC, a half game behind Longwood and 1.5 games back from Miami. With three matches remaining, Kent State is jockeying for position in the MAC Tournament, with the top four seeds earning a spot. After Friday, the Flashes finish with home matches against Longwood Oct. 21 and Ohio Oct. 28.
Central Michigan is in search of its first win in conference play, having taken losses against Longwood, Appalachian State and Ohio. The team is led by Jasmine Banks, who has been involved in every goal for Central Michigan this season.
