Kent State junior quarterback George Bollas (Aurora, Ohio) was named Mid-American Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week, following his standout performance against Central Michigan. A fourth-year chemistry major, Bollas carries a 3.66 cumulative grade point average.
Last week against the Chippewas, Bollas completed 15 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the first Golden Flashes' quarterback to eclipse 300 yards in a game since 2014. He also rushed for 57 yards, guiding the Kent State offense to 494 total yards – the program's most since 2013.
On the season, Bollas has thrown for 1,133 yards and rushed for 238.
