Women's Basketball to Compete in WNIT

Kent State's storied 2016-17 will continue as the team has received an bid to play in the Women's National Invitation Tournament as announced Monday night. The Golden Flashes will head to Michigan on Thursday, March 16 for a 7 p.m. game.

This is the first WNIT invitation for the Golden Flashes since the 2011 season. That year, Kent State traveled to Duquesne where it lost 64-56. The program is 0-3 all-time in WNIT games. The Golden Flashes are also 0-3 all-time against the Wolverines. All three matchups were played in Ann Arbor, with the last also being a WNIT contest in 2010.
