
Panthong and Stormo Named Co-Golfers of the Week

CLEVELAND – Kent State University freshmen women's golfers Pimnipa Panthong and Karoline Stormo were named Mid-American Conference Co-Golfers of the Week.
With seven Flashes in the field at the Lady Buckeye Invitational, Panthong and Stormo both finished at the top of the pack. The duo tied for 12th at 8-over par 224. In the first two rounds, Panthong led the way for Kent State with an even par 72 in round one and a 75 in round two. Stormo recorded a 73 in the first round and a 78 in the second. However, Stormo had the best round among the Flashes in round three at 1-over par 73 to move into the top-15, while Panthong finished the weekend with a 77.Â

Together, the duo finished ahead of 10 nationally ranked golfers and were in a top-15 that featured five of the nation's best. For Panthong, it was her eighth straight top-15 finish this season. It was the second highest finish of Stormo's career and second top-15 performance in the last three outings.
The pair of freshmen will compete with Kent State at the MAC Championship, hosted by the Flashes at Silver Lake Country Club April 21-23.
