Kubicki and Looser in Action at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa – Kent State track and field's Mitchell Kubicki and Ryan Looser wrapped up day one of the decathlon Wednesday at the Drake Relays.

After five events, Looser is in 12th place with a total of 3,133 points, with Kubicki right behind him 13th with 3,084 points.

Looser set personal-records in the 100m dash (11.45 seconds) and the 400m (51.78 seconds), finishing 12th and 9th, respectively, in those events.

Kubicki's best event of the day was the 400m, in which he took fifth-place with a time of 50.84 seconds. In the 100m dash, Kubicki took 11th with a time of 11.44 seconds.

The decathlon continues Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with the 1,500m run.
