
Trio of Flashes Record Top-10 Finishes Thursday at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa — Three members of the Kent State track and field program posted top-10 finishes on Thursday's second day of the Drake Relays.
Jacob Mally scored the fourth-most points on the day in the decathlon and finished seventh with a total of 6,486. Mally ran a 15.09 in the 110-meter hurdles to take second-place to open the day and also closed the competition with a second-place finish in the 1,500-meter run (4:36.39). In between, he recorded outdoor collegiate-best marks in the discus (101'-7") and pole vault (13'-1.5").
Rachel Banks won her heat of the women's 800-meter run with a season-best time of 2:10.41 to finish ninth overall. Lauren Burnett clocked a 2:13.17 to place 20th.
Clark Bookman ran a personal-best time of 9:18.15 to take ninth in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase. In the men's 800-meter run, Kevin Jones (1:54.85) placed 20th and Andrew O'Leary (1:56.66) placed 24th.
Kent State continues action at the Drake Relays on Friday. The women's team begins action at 11 a.m. ET with the long jump and the first men's competition will be the shot put at 12 p.m. ET. Action on the track begins with the 100-meter hurdles at 1:30 p.m.
