KENT, Ohio – Kent State softball head coach Eric Oakley announced that Rutgers transfer Madyson Cole has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Golden Flashes.
Cole will come to Kent State and have two years of eligibility remaining as a junior. She played 70 games in the last two years for the Scarlet Knights and last season had the best year of her career with three home runs, 11 RBIs and four stolen bases. She is a right-handed bat that can play multiple positions and will provide quality depth for the Golden Flashes the next two years.
"We are excited add Madyson to our Kent State softball family," said Kent State head coach Eric Oakley. "She is a versatile player and a hard worker and the experience she's had will allow her to compete for a spot on the field right away. She's a good athlete, a good student and a good person. She is a perfect fit for this team."
She was part of a Rutgers team that finished sixth in the Big 10 Conference, their best finish since joining the league. The Scarlet Knights went to the National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC) last season and landed at the Lynchburg Regional with the Golden Flashes, but the two teams did not square off.
