
Ba and Hodrick Advance at NCAA East First Round

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Baidy Ba and Asa Hodrick posted qualifying times on Wednesday, as Kent State began competition at the NCAA East First Round at the University of North Florida's Jax Track at Hodges Stadium.
Ba advanced to Friday's quarterfinal in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:45.85 to finish 13th.
In his second race of the evening, Hodrick clocked a time of 20.58 to move on in the 200-meter dash. The wind-aided time matched his personal-best and was good for 16th. Hodrick also ran the 100-meter dash and placed 34th in 10.31 seconds.
Korie Davis II and Alexander Shields both finished 46th in their respective events. Davis II clocked a time of 48.99 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles while Shields posted a time of 14.88 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles.
Three Golden Flashes are scheduled for individual competition on Friday. Ba and Hodrick will represent Kent State in running quarterfinals, while Alexandre Malanda is slated for action in the triple jump. Davis II, Hodrick, Jonathan Solomon, Quintin Cooks and Kyle Sommer are entered in the 4x400-meter relay.
