
Dunn Earns MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week Honors

CLEVELAND – Bridget Dunn was named the Mid-American Conference Scholar-Athlete of the week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Dunn's stellar performance during the MAC Women's Basketball Tournament helped lead Kent State to its first conference championship since 2002. Her 40 rebounds over the three games are the third most all-time by a player in a single tournament, and she finished with averages of 12.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per game.
The junior grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds and scored 14 points in the quarterfinals against Northern Illinois. She then shot 6-of-7 from the field and finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds against Ball State in the semifinals. In the championship against Buffalo, she grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and blocked two shots.
Dunn is the first member of the women's basketball team to earn Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors this season. She is pursuing a degree in exercise science and has earned a 3.995 cumulative GPA.
Next Up for Kent State
Kent State will be making its sixth overall NCAA Tournament appearance on Saturday, March 23, at 2:15 p.m. The No. 15 seed Golden Flashes will play host No. 2 seed Notre Dame in a first-round matchup at the Joyce Center on ESPN2.
