
Flashes Head to Morgantown for Final Tune-Up Before MAC Championships

KENT – The Kent State Track and Field teams will head to the WVU Last Chance Meet hosted by West Virginia University. The meet will begin tomorrow, May 4th, at 11 a.m. with field events and running events will start at 3:00 p.m.
Kent has 13 athletes across 12 events ranked in the top 48 of the NCAA East Region. The top 48 athletes and top 24 relays will qualify for the Regional Championships hosted by Kentucky, May 22-25.
For the men, Jaheim Jones is ranked 30th and 25th, respectively in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. He is joined by Logan Doyle, Sean Callahan Jr., and Dejon Manning on the 4x100-meter relay team that is ranked 29th. Alex Shields is 37th and Ayden Bath is 41st in the 110-meter hurdles. In the field events, Liam Vinskovich is 42nd in the high jump and Kristian Kneffler is 21st in the pole vault. In the long jump, Del'Mario Hairston is 26th and Bath is 33rd. Bath is also ranked 16th in the decathlon.
On the women's squad, all current qualifiers are in the field events. Svenia DeConinck is 27th in the high jump. The duo of Gabby Bailey and Aliesha Shaw are among the qualifiers in both the shot put and discus. Bailey is ranked 37th and 10th, respectively and Shaw is 34th and 21s, respectively. Matilde Carboncini is ranked 43rd in the heptathlon to complete the list of qualifiers for the Flashes.
