
Gymnastics Records Eighth-Best Team GPA in the Country

KENT, Ohio – With 13 NACGC/W Scholastic All-America selections, the Kent State gymnastics team finished with the eighth-highest team grade point average (3.641) in the country, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women.
In order to qualify as a NACGC/W Scholastic All-American, gymnasts had to maintain a 3.50 GPA for the 2015-2016 academic year.
The 13 Kent State gymnasts receiving the award are: Ellen Demarest (Granville, Ohio), Nicolle Eastman (Burton, Mich.), Milena Fabry (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio), Samantha Gordon (Wellington, Fla.), Kayla Kosmerl (Mentor, Ohio), Skyelee Lamano (Layton, Utah), Rebecca Osmer (Atwater, Calif.), Kennedy Plude (Lee's Summit, Mo.), Alyssa Quinlan (Granger, Ind.), Michaela Romito (Broadview Heights, Ohio), Kiernan Roseland (Dacula, Ga.), Brooke Timko (Girard, Ohio) and Dara Williams (Bloomington, Ill.). Demarest, Fabry, Gordon and Lamano were among the 91 student-athletes to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Led by the gymnastics team's 3.641, the Kent State athletic department recorded its highest annual GPA in program history (3.212).
This past season, the Golden Flashes captured their eighth MAC regular season title in program history, going undefeated (6-0) in conference match-ups.
