KENT, Ohio – Kent State Men's golf has added 2017 Italian National Boys Team Championship winner Julien Paltrinieri to its 2017 recruiting class.
The native of Milan, Italy signed his national letter of intent on Friday, joining a class that includes Canadian junior standout Johnny Travale, who signed to play for the Golden Flashes on Thursday.
"Julien is a very, very precise technically and a well-trained golfer who has worldwide experience," said Kent State head coach Herb Page. "He is going to come in with a lot of experience at an elite level."
Along with the win at the Italian National Boy's Championship, Paltrinieri's 2017 highlights include third-place finishes at the European Boys Team Championship at the La Manga Club in Cartagena, Spain and the English Boys' Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship at West Sussex Golf Club in Pulborough, England. He also finished 19th individually while representing Italy at the Toyota Junior World Cup at Chukyo Golf Club in Japan.
"He has played all over the world individually and as a member of the Italian national team," said Page. "He is highly motivated and wanted to play at an elite school. We are excited about what Julien and Johnny will bring to the team."
