JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Kent State's junior's Miles Dunlap and Roseanne Erickson highlighted day one of the NCAA Division I East Region Preliminary Round for the Golden Flashes at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.
Erickson concluded her NCAA East Region Preliminary Round in seventh place to advance to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships set for June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore. Erickson jumped a final distance of 6.25m (20' 6.25").
Dunlap ran a time of 52.04 for second place in the fifth-of-six heats and was 22nd out of the 48 participants to move onto the quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m. on Fri., May 30.
Wayne Gordon finished 33rd in the first round of the 100m dash with a time of 10.73 to take fifth in the sixth heat.
Michael King took part in the shot put and finished 40th with a mark of 16.88m (55' 4.75"), which was 11th place in his flight.
Matthew Tobin ran the 400m dash and finished 43rd with a time of 47.76 while he came in seventh in the fourth-of-six heats on Thursday.
C.J. Carlisle took 31st in the javelin throw with a heave of 44.35m (145' 6") as she finished 12th in the second of three heats.
The Golden Flashes continue to compete in the NCAA Division I East Region Preliminary Round tomorrow, Fri., May 30 starting at 10 a.m. with the men's hammer throw.
