Gymnastics Had a Solid Performance at the Blue and Gold Exhibition Friday

KENT, Ohio – Kent State's gymnastics team scored a final score of 192.675 in the Blue and Gold exhibition meet with Pittsburgh on Friday, December 11th inside the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.
The Golden Flashes scored team totals of 47.950 on vault, 47.475 on bars, 48.375 on beam and a 48.875 on floor for the night. The Panthers had a collective team score of 191.125 while posting scores of 48.325 on vault, 47.675 on bars, 47.300 on beam and a 47.825 on floor.
On vault, Kent State was led by Jordan Hardison who finished with a 9.700 to place third overall at the meet.
Ali Marrero, Brooke Timko and Skyelee Lamano all took the top-three spots on the bars for the evening, respectively. Marrero posted a 9.750, Timko had a 9.7 as Lamano finished with a 9.65.
Rachel Stypinski finished in first on both the balance beam and the floor exercise as she had a score of 9.800 on beam and a 9.875 on floor.
Jordan Hardison and Sarah Lippowitsch each finished within the top-five for the balance beam. Hardison scored a 9.675 and Lippowitsch had a 9.650.
Behind Stypinski in the top-five on the floor exercise were Jordan Hardison, Skyelee Lamano and Nicolle Eastman. Hardison finished in third with a 9.800, as Lamano finished in fourth at 9.775 and Eastman in fifth with a 9.725.
The Golden Flashes will officially open the season on Sunday, January 10th when Temple comes to town for a 1 p.m. start time inside the M.A.C. Center.
