Gymnastics Picked to Finish Second in the MAC Preseason Poll

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Kent State's women's gymnastics team was selected to finish second in the Mid-American Conference preseason poll coaches' poll released by the league Wednesday.
The Golden Flashes look to start the regular season on January 10th when Temple visits the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center set for 1:00 pm.
Kent State, who finished with a 12-7 overall record and 2-4 in the MAC, won the MAC Tournament a year a with a score of 196.375, edging out the defending champion Central Michigan. The Flashes saw three gymnast get named to the All-Tournament team in Skyelee Lamano, Rachel Stypinski and Rebecca Osmer. Stypinski was also named the Specialist of the Year and co-Freshman of the Year after her performances throughout the season.
Stypinski represented the Golden Flashes at the NCAA Columbus Regional as she tied for second on floor, 9.900, and tied for 13th on beam, 9.800.
Central Michigan was picked in this year's poll to win the title with four first place votes followed by Kent State, Eastern Michigan and Bowling Green with one apiece.
The 2016 Mid-American Conference Championships will be held in Muncie, Indiana at Ball State.
