T&F Rain Soaked Day at Northeast Ohio Quad Comes to an End

AKRON, Ohio – Kent State's track and field programs saw the end of a rainy day in Akron at the Northeast Ohio Quad come to an end, Thursday, April 2nd.

The Golden Flashes had four individuals take home first place in the quad meet with Akron, Youngstown State and Ashland, while the women's 4x400m and the men's 4x100m relay's took first.
Kent State saw first in the men's 100m dash in William Barnes with a time of 10.49. Barnes also took home first in the 200m dash with a time of 20.92.
The men's 4x100m relay squad – Isaiah Conkle, Jonathan Grant, William Barnes and Miles Dunlap – took first at 40.67 seconds.
Individually on the women's side Hannah Fleck, Jorian Ordway and Tabitha Jacofsky took home first on the day. Fleck in the 1500m run (4:41.63), Ordway in the 200m dash (24.52) and Jacofsky in the 800m run in a time of 2:15.01.
The women's 4x400m relay team 'A' – Lynnese Beyan, Jorian Ordway, Lauren Burnett and Tyler Williams – took home first with a time of 3:46.67. Kent State's relay team 'B' took second with a time of 3:56.19, comprised of Kristen Bergmeyer, Taylor Farquhar, Tabitha Jacofsky and Olivia Gaus.
The Flashes' men's 4x400m relay core – Matthew Tobin, Miles Dunlap, Andrew O'Leary and Kyle Tywon – took second with a time of 3:18.23.
Andrew O'Leary also took second individually in the 800m run in a time of 1:56.22. Kyle Tywon took home second in the 110m Hurdles at 14.39.
Miles Dunlap and Grant Onken took home third place in their respective events on the day. Dunlap ran a time of 47.59 in the 400m dash, as Onken ran a time of 3:59.39 in the 1500m run.
Danny Young, Michael King and Jonathan Grant also came away with a third place finish on the first day of the quad meet. Young took third in the 400m hurdles (55.00), King in the shot put (16.04m 52' 7.5") and Grant in the 100m dash (10.61).
The women's 4x100m relay – Kaila Gardner, Tyler Williams, Jorian Ordway and Cayla Carey – took second in the race with a time of 47.38.
Lauren Burnett finished behind Fleck in the 1500m run with a time of 4:41.87 for second place.
Arbria Williams was the top placer for Kent State in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 14.60, good enough for second place.Â
Tyler Williams and Lynnese Beyan went second and third, respectively in the 400m dash to lead the Flashes with times of Williams at 57.30 and Beyan at 57.65.
Olivia Guas finished behind Jacofsky in the 800m run for third place at 2:19.19. Kaila Gardner took third in the 200m dash with a time of 25.66.
On the women's side of the field events, Jackie Leppelmeier, Cayla Carey and Ada Nicholson-Burley all took home third place. Leppelmeier took third in the shot put, with a mark of 14.03m (46' 0.5"). Carey placed third in the long jump with a jump of 5.57m (18' 6.5"), while Nicholson-Burley came in third in the discus with a final throw of 44.95m (147' 6").
The Golden Flashes' track and field teams return to the Northeast Ohio Quad for the second and final day of the meet on Friday, April 3rd, starting at 2pm. The women's pole vault, men's high jump, women's javelin all kick off the events on Friday.Â
