
Tolbert Named MAC Field Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State senior Donovan Tolbert has been named Mid-American Conference Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday, January 19th.
Tolbert's award comes after he took first place and set a Kent State school record in the triple jump with a mark of 16.08m (52' 9.25") at the Doug Raymond Invitational on Saturday, January 16th. Along with the school record, Tolbert also broke the Kent State Field House triple-jump record of 16.05m (52' 8.00") previously held by two-time All-American Robert Johnson of Appalachian State.
For Tolbert, this is the first time he has received MAC Athlete of the Week honors. His mark of 16.08m puts him atop the MAC triple-jump standings and tied for the third best triple-jump in the nation at this point in the season.
The Golden Flashes return to the Kent State Field House this Friday, January 22nd at 5:30 p.m. when the take on the Zips in the annual Akron Dual.
