
Eleven Flashes Named Academic All-MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Mid-American Conference announced its Academic All-MAC recipients for women's soccer Thursday morning, 11 of which were student-athletes from Kent State.
In total, 124 student-athletes from around the conference garnered Academic All-MAC honors. Central Michigan had 15 Academic All-MAC recipients to lead the conference, followed by Western Michigan with 13 recipients.
Kristen Brots (Naperville, Ill.), Donavan Capehart, (Orient, Ohio), Paige Culver (Oakville, Ontario), Jaime Eiben (Mentor, Ohio), Abbie Lawson (Stow, Ohio), Mackenzie Lesnick (Kirtland, Ohio), Brittany Maisano (Dublin, Ohio), Ashleah McDonald (Langley, B.C.), Karli Paracca (Valencia, Pa.), Hayden Pascoe (Belle Vernon, Pa.), and Cassandra Sauter (Greensburg, Pa.) are the 11 Golden Flashes receiving the Academic All-MAC accolade.
Lawson and Maisano are now three-time recipients of the award, while Brots, Capehart, Eiben, Lesnick and Paracca are two-time recipients.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
The Golden Flashes are coming off the best season in program history, finishing with a record 15 wins, winning the first MAC Tournament Championship in program, and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
