Lurken Named MAC East Player of the Week

The Mid-American Conference announced on Monday that Kent State's Larissa Lurken was named the East Division Player of the Week, as voted on by all 12 conference head coaches.
Lurken had a huge week, setting records in Kent State's first conference victory of the season. Her 37 points on Wednesday tied for the 8th-most in a game in Kent State history. She tied the Golden Flashes' single-season record with 7 made threes in a game, and did it on just eight attempts. She added in 11 rebounds to record a double-double. Lurken was a rebound shy of another double-double on Saturday, finishing with 11 points and nine rebounds. The junior was also great at the line all week, making 12 of her 14 attempts.
The Golden Flashes continue play this Wednesday when they travel to Miami to take on the RedHawks at 7 p.m. The game will be aired live on ESPN3.
