Track and Field Concludes Day One of Spire Invitational

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State track and field team concluded day one of the Spire Invitational Friday, in Geneva, Ohio.
In the women's weight throw, sophomore Gabrielle Figueroa took third with a mark of 19.46m (63' 10.25"). Coming in tenth behind Figueroa, was junior Rebecca Leppelmeier, who tied a personal record with a mark of 17.49m (57' 4.75").
In the men's weight throw, junior Reggie Jagers came away in third place with a distance of 21.13m (66' 3.75"). Ryan Looser competed in the pole vault for the Golden Flashes, posting a mark of 4.13m (13' 6.5"), good enough for 11th place.
On the oval, sophomore Tyler Williams set an indoor personal record in the 200m dash with a time of 24.97, taking 17th overall. Junior Jorian Ordway finished in 20th a few spots behind Williams, with a time of 25.13.
Junior Danny Young was the top finisher for the Flashes in the men's 200m dash with a time of 22.6.
Day two of the Spire Invitational is slated to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12.
