Men’s 4x100 Relay Team Just Misses School Record at Yellow Jacket Relays

ATLANTA, Ga. – Kent State's 4x100 meter relay team of William Barnes, Jonathan Grant, Brian Smith, and Wayne Gordon were one hundredth of a second short of the Kent State record (39.73), running a 39.74 to take first place at the Yellow Jackets Relays on Saturday, March 26th.
Three other Golden Flashes picked up victories at the Yellow Jacket Relays. Jesse Oxley posted a mark of 5.08m (16' 8") to take the pole vault title, Reggie Jagers finished with a throw of 55.33m (181' 6") to capture the discus title, and Jacob Swords ran the fastest 800m dash of the day, finishing with a time of 1:50.62.
Taking third and fourth place in the discus behind Jagers was Douglas Moorer Jr. and Micheal King with marks of 50.63m (166' 1") and 46.03m (151' 0"), respectively. David Paliscak competed in the shot put, taking 3rd place with a distance of 16.61m (54' 6").
In the 3000m steeplechase, freshman Kyle Brooks finished in second place with a time of 9:58.49. Senior Donovan Tolbert captured third in the triple jump and moved into ninth all-time with a mark of 15.11m (49' 7"). Taking 5th in the triple jump was Craig Stevens Jr. with a jump of 14.88m (48' 10").
William Barnes, Wayne Gordon, Brandon Smith, Matthew Tobin competed in the 4x400m relay, taking 7th place with a time of 3:13.45.
In the javelin, Ryan Looser finished in 7th place with a heave of 47.11m (154' 7").
