
Women’s T&F Concludes Final Day of Yellow Jacket Relays

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Kent State women's track and field team concluded the final day of the Yellow Jacket Relays on Saturday, March 26th, highlighted by Rachel Slingluff's victory in the 3000m steeplechase.
Slingluff, a senior, posted a time of 10:56.83 to take the steeplechase title and move into 5th place in Kent State history. Finishing second behind Slingluff was Caroline Sauers with a time of 11:14.39, moving her into 9th all-time. Sauers also competed in the 1,500m run, taking 4th place with a time of 4:35.56.
Jai'Lyn Mosley was the top finisher in the discus throw for the Golden Flashes with a distance of 48.61m (159' 6"), taking 2nd place. In the 4th spot was Rebecca Leppelmeier with a throw of 45.85m (150' 5"), followed by Ada Nicholson-Burley in 10th place with a mark of 41.32m (135' 7").
Senior Roseanne Erickson captured fourth place in the long jump with a mark of 6.1m (20' 0.25"). In the high jump Lauren Pannell finished in 10th place with at a height of 1.61m (5' 3.25"), followed Talia Falco in 12th place, also at 1.61m. Pannell needed one attempt to complete the jump, while Falco needed three, giving Pannell the higher finish.
In the pole vault, Flashes took three of the top seven spots, with Morgan Estes finishing 4th with a mark of 4.0m (13' 1.5") to lead the Flashes. Samantha Tollerud came in 5th place followed by Rebecca Herte in in 7th. Anna Lombardo took 8th place in javelin with a distance of 36.83m (120' 10").
The 4x400m relay team of Tyler Williams, Jorian Ordway, Kayla Seymour, and Taylor Farquhar finished with a time of 3:47.33, good enough for 8th place. Freshman Olivia Davis ran a 4:39.41 in the 1,500m run, to take 9th place.
