
Men’s T&F has Impressive Final Day at Northeast Ohio Quad

AKRON, Ohio – Kent State's men's track and field team had an impressive showing on Saturday at the Northeast Ohio Quad, highlighted by victories in five events.
The 4x100m relay team consisting of William Barnes, Brandon Harris, Brian Smith, and Wayne Gordon collected their second victory of the season with a time of 40.43. Gordon and Smith took the top two spots in the 100m dash with times of 10.44 and 10.45, respectively.
Taking the 800m run title was Jacob Swords with a time of 1:52.07. In fifth place behind Swords was Grant Onken at 1:53.82.
Micheal King captured the shot put title with a mark of 17.55m (57' 7"), followed Davis Paliscak in third with a distance of 17.23m (56' 6.5"). Paliscak and King also competed in the discus taking 7th (46.87m) and 8th (46.75m), respectively. Reginald Jagers was the top finisher in the discus for the Golden Flashes with a mark of 55.65m (182' 7"), followed by Douglas Moorer Jr. in 5th at 49.85m (163' 6").
In the pole vault, Jesse Oxley captured first place at a height of 5.22m (17' 1.75"). Kyle Schlumbohm finished seventh at 4.62m (15' 1.75"). Oxley competed in the javelin, finishing 5th with a distance of 47.77m (156' 9"), followed by Tyler Jones in sixth at 47.09m (154' 6").
Golden Flashes took three of the top five spots in the 100m hurdles with William Barnes taking second (14.13), Richard Dahome taking third (14.80) and Ryan Looser taking fifth (15.32). Dahome also took third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.60. In fourth place was Kyle Storm at 56.58.
In the 400m dash, Andrew O'Leary captured third, running a 49.23. Bayley Tow took ninth in the 1,500m with a time of 4:12.37.
Abdul-Nasser Seidu competed in the triple jump, taking second with a mark of 14.48m (47' 6.25"). In the long jump, Jonathan Grant captured fifth with a jump of 7.15m (23' 5.5"). Roosevelt Dotson and Tyler Jones participated in the high jump, taking fifth and seventh place with marks of 2.1m (6' 10.75") and 2.0m (6' 6.75").
The Golden Flashes return to action next weekend, as Kent State heads to Ohio State for the Jesse Owens Classic.
