Flashes, Doyon Atop the Leaderboard at Lady Buckeye

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 14 women's golf got off to a strong start in the first two rounds of the Lady Buckeye Invitational on Saturday. The team shot a 288 and 287 to be 1-under and have an 11-stroke lead entering the final round.
Indiana is in second place at 10-over while host Ohio State sits in third at 15-over.
Josée Doyon leads the event at 6-under after completing an opening round of 2-under and a second round of 4-under par. Â She is in front by three strokes.
Taylor Kim as also cracked the top five as she sits in a tie for fourth place at 1-over. She had the best opening-round score with a 69. Amira Alexander is tied for 7th place at 2-over overall.
Michaela Finn also competed well by shooting a 4-over to be tied for 12th. Wad Phaewchimplee and Kasey Nielsen both shot 8-over to be tied for 28th. Kelly Nielsen enters the final round at 13-over playing as an individual.
Kent State leads the event in both par three and par four scoring while they also are the best in the field with 113 pars and 30 birdies. Individually, Doyon is a tournament-best 2-under on par threes and a second-best 2-under on par fours. She leads the event with ten birdies.
The Golden Flashes will be paired with Indiana and Ohio State in the final round that is set to begin on Sunday with tee times 9:40 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Live scoring will be available again on golfstat.com.
