
T&F Concludes Combined Events at Drake Relays and Distance Events at Gina Relays

Kent State track and field's decathlon and heptathlon athletes competed at the Drake Relays, while distance runners competed at the Hillsdale College Gina Relays on Thursday, April 28.
Drake Relays
In the decathlon, senior Tyler Jones racked up 6,548 points to take third place. Jones captured first in the 110mH with a time of 14.71, while finishing in a tie for second in the high jump at 1.96m (6' 5").
In third place behind Jones was Ryan Looser with 6,317 points. Looser posted a mark of 50.78m (166' 7.25") in the javelin, taking second place. In the 110m hurdles, Looser ran 15.07, good enough for third place.
Aspen Gaita was the top finisher in the heptathlon for the Golden Flashes, finishing 12th with 4,350 points. Gaita finished seventh in the 100m hurdles (14.85) and tied for seventh in the high jump at 1.57m (1.75")
In 15th place in the heptathlon was Talia Falco with 4,130 points. Falco's best finish was tied for third in the high jump at a height of 1.63m (5' 4.25"). In the long jump, Falco jumped 5.29m (17' 4.25") to take seventh.
Gina Relays
On day one of the the Hillsdale College Gina Relays, sisters Rachel and Jesse Slingluff competed in the 5,000m run. Rachel took 19th with a time of 17:43.98, while Jesse took 47th with a time of 18:22.61.
The Golden Flashes continue with the Drake and Gina Relays tomorrow, while kicking off the Ashland Alumni Open on Saturday, April 30.
