T&F Field Wraps Up Friday’s Events at Drake and Gina Relays

Kent State's track and field programs continued their busy weekend as they concluded Friday's (April 29) events at the Drake Relays and the Hillsdale College Gina Relays.

Ada Nicholson-Burley was the top finisher on the day for the Golden Flashes, taking fourth place in the discus with a mark of 50.27m (164' 11"). In 11th behind Nicholson-Burley was Jai'Lyn Mosley at 47.10m (154' 6"), followed by Rebecca Leppelmeier in 13th with a mark of 46.65m (153' 1").
In the men's shot put, Micheal King posted a mark of 17.41m (57' 1.5") to take 6th place, as David Paliscak finished 18th at 16.47m (54' 0.5").
Taylor Farquhar and Donovan Tolbert each collected eighth place finishes in their respected events. Farquhar ran 59.12 in the 400m hurdles, while Tolbert jumped 15.01m (49' 3") in the triple jump.
Competing in the men's pole vault was Jesse Oxley, finishing tied for 10th at a height 5.00m (16' 4.75").
Roseanne Erickson captured a 13th place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.75m (18' 10.50"), as Lauren Pannell took 21st in the high jump at 1.63m (5' 4.25").
On the track, the men's 4x200m relay team of Brandon Harris, Matthew Tobin, Andrew O'Leary and William took seventh with a time of 1:26.36.
Advancing from today's preliminary rounds into tomorrow's finals was William Barnes in the 110m hurdles, the men's 4x100m relay team of Barnes, Jonathan Grant, Brian Smith and Wayne Gordon, and the the women's 4x400m relay team of Tyler Williams, Taylor Farquhar, Jorian Ordway and Chelsea Laury.
Gina Relays
Eight Golden Flashes competed in Friday's events at the Hillsdale College Gina Relays, as Sarah Pack was the top finisher for the Flashes, taking sixth in the 800m open division with a time of 2:17.61.
In the men's 800m open division, Zane Kahkonen Keppler finished 39th with a time of 1:59.96.
Caroline Sauers and Morgan Manuel competed in the championship division of the 3,000m steeplechase, taking 15th and 28th with times of 10:46.03 and 11:32.21, respectively. In the 10,000m run, Morgan Bing took 15th with a time of 38:10.68.
In the championship division of the women's 1,500m run, Olivia Davis took 33rd at 4:39.05. On the men's side, Grant Onken finished 13th with a time of 3:50.68, followed by Samuel Allen in 27th at 3:54.61.
Kent State looks to continue their strong showing this weekend as they wrap up competition from the Drake Relays, Gina Relays and Ashland Open on Saturday April 30.
