
Women’s T&F Takes Fourth at MAC Championships

TOLEDO, Ohio - Kent State's women's track and field team captured fourth place overall as the 2016 MAC Outdoor Championships hosted by the University of Toledo came to end on Saturday, May 14.
The Golden Flashes finished with 104.5 points to take fourth place, as Eastern Michigan scored 152 points to win the team championship.
Dior Delophont captured second place finishes in the high jump (1.71m) and triple jump (12.95m), as she finishes her MAC career with the most points scored by an individual in MAC Championship history.
Taking fifth in the triple jump was Roseanne Erickson with a mark of 12.16m (39' 10.75"), as Lauren Pannell finished tied for seventh in the high jump at 1.61m (5' 3.25").
In the 400m hurdles, Taylor Farquhar came away with a silver medal, finishing with a time of 59.70. Jai'Lyn Mosley also brought home silver, posting a mark of 49.50m (162' 5") in the discus to take second. In fourth place behind Mosley was Rebecca Leppelmeier with a mark of 48.58 (159' 4").
Golden Flashes took fifth and sixth in the 400m dash as Tyler Williams finished fifth at 55.29 and Jorian Ordway finished sixth at 55.52.
Olivia Gaus brought home a fifth place finish in the 800m run, turning in a time of 2:13.06.
The 4x400m relay team of Jorian Ordway, Tyler Williams, Chelsea Laury and Taylor Farquhar took third with a time of 3:43.63, while the 4x100m relay team of Kayla Seymour, Arbria Williams, Samantha Shaver and Cayla Carey captured eighth with a time of 47.18.
Up next for the Golden Flashes is the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla. Thursday, May 26-28.
