
Men’s T&F Concludes Regular Season Saturday at Campbell-Wright Open

AKRON, Ohio – Kent State's men's track and field concluded the regular season with an impressive performance at the at the Campbell-Wright Open on Saturday, May 7.
The 4x100m meter relay team of William Barnes, Jonathan Grant, Brian Smith and Wayne Gordon dominated the competition once again, taking first place with a time of 40.12.
Barnes took first in the 200m dash with a personal-best time of 20.69, moving into 6th place all-time. Finishing third and fourth behind Barnes was Smith and Matthew Tobin with times of 21.08 and 21.46, respectively. Tobin added a fifth place finish in the 400m dash with a time of 47.86, as Andrew O'Leary took eighth at 49.05.
In the 800m run, Jacob Swords outpaced the rest of the field, finishing in 1:50.99 for his third victory of the season. Grant Onken had the next best time for Kent State at 1:55.94, good enough for fourth place.
Micheal King and Jesse Oxley each came away with second places in their respected events. King posted a mark of 17.54m (57' 6.5") in the shot put, while Oxley turned in a height of 5.25m (17' 2.75") in the pole vault. King also competed in the discus, taking seventh at 49.65m (162' 11"). Kyle Schlumbohm finished ninth behind Oxley at 4.8m (15' 9").
Reggie Jagers III was the top finisher in the discus for Kent State, taking third at 55.21m (181' 2"), as Douglas Moorer Jr. took sixth with a mark of 52.42m (172' 0").
Abdul-Nasser Seidu took home third place in the triple jump with a jump of 14.41m (47' 3.5"), followed by Justin Bailey in fourth at 14.30m (46' 11"). David Paliscak also notched a third place finish, posting a mark of 17.41m (57' 1.5") in the shot put.
Nick Holley and Nate Holley made their debuts for the Golden Flashes, taking seventh (49.07m | 161' 0") and eighth (46.85m | 153' 8"), respectively, in the javelin.
In the long jump, Samory Fraga captured fourth with a mark of 7.30m (23' 11.5"), followed by Ryan Looser in ninth at 6.58m (21' 7.25"). DJ Ohlson added a ninth place finish in the high jump with a jump of 1.9m (6' 2.75").
On the oval, Samuel Allen took second in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:01.26, followed by Zane Kahkonen Keppler in fourth at 4:05.43.
Tyler Jones finished runner-up in the 110m hurdles at 14.57, while Richard Dahome took fifth at 14.89. In the 100m dash, Jonathan Grant finished with a time of 10.51 for a third place finish, followed by Isaiah Conkle in eighth (10.76), Joshua Peoples in 10th (10.82) and Brandon Harris in 12th (10.87).
Brandon Avers and Nick Schank ran the 3,000m, taking third (9:04.70) and fourth (9:14.48), respectively.
