
Doyon, Phaewchimplee Named WGCA All-American Scholars

For the third straight year, Kent State students Josée Doyon and Wad Phaewchimplee have been named Women's Golf Coaches Assocaition All-American Scholars, as announced by the WGCA this week.
The honor was given to 828 women's collegiate golfers in Division I, Division II and Division III who have maintained a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
Doyon received the honor in all four years of her Kent State career.Β She also earned Academic All-MAC recognition and was a First Team All-MAC recipient.Β Doyon graduated this spring with an impressive 3.94 GPA, earning her degree in political science/criminology and justice studies.
Junior Phaewchimplee has been named an WGCA All-American Scholar now for three-straight years.Β She was a First Team-All MAC and MAC All-Tournament Team honoree while remaining Kent State's career scoring average leader.Β Phaewchimplee maintains a 3.63 GPA while majoring in environmental geography.
The Golden Flashes have now had at least one All-American Scholar every year dating back to the 2000 season.
