PNC Student-Athlete Achievers Recognized at Men’s Basketball Game

KENT, Ohio — Throughout the 2016-17 athletics season, PNC Bank is partnering with Kent State Athletics to recognize student-athletes who display well-rounded achievement through leadership in the classroom, in the community, and in competition.
During the second half of Kent State men's basketball's Jan. 17 matchup with Buffalo, Kent State's Director of Athletics Joel Nielsen and Executive Vice President and Retail Market Manager for Northern Ohio Drew Martin, presented these student-athletes with a plaque. The two student-athletes recognized were senior soccer standout Abbie Lawson and junior baseball standout Chris Martin.
Abbie was accompanied on the court by women's soccer Head Coach Rob Marinaro, her parents Bill and Jodie, and her brother TJ. Chris was accompanied by baseball Head Coach Jeff Duncan, and his mother Susan Martin.
