
Latz, Willeman Named Top 100 Draft Prospects

Baseball America released its 2017 College Top 100 Draft Prospects list with Kent State's Jake Latz and Zach Willeman both earning recognition. Latz was listed at the No. 77 prospect and Willeman came in at No. 84.
Latz is new to the Golden Flashes after he transferred in from LSU. In 2016 he threw 8.1 innings in seven appearances (three starts). The lefty went 0-1 with a 7.56 ERA while striking out 11 and walking four. He was drafted out of high school in 2014 in the 11th round by the Toronto Blue Jays.
Willeman was the team's main closer as a sophomore in 2016 as he had a team-high 14 saves in 23 appearances. He went 1-3 with a 2.70 ERA in 36.2 innings, striking out 38 and walking 25 along the way. Willeman was named to the All-MAC Second Team last season.
