CLEVELAND – The Kent State University field hockey team had five student-athletes honored on the 2017 All-MAC Field Hockey teams.
Seniors Ines Delpech and Jessica Nesbitt were each named to the All-MAC First Team. Clara Rodriguez Seto, Berta Jover Llorens and Jamie Fries were all named to the All-MAC Second Team.
Delpech makes her third straight appearance on the first team, leaving her mark as one of the league's most dominant defensive players in history. The All-American has played every minute of all 17 matches this season, helping the Flashes win four straight to end the regular season. Delpech is also a force on offense, with six goals and a team-high 74 shots.
Nesbitt earns a spot on the first team as the best distributor in the MAC. She has a conference best 11 assists over her 15 appearances. The midfielder has played an unselfish game all season, with all 11 points coming on assists. This is the first All-MAC selection of her career.
Fries is the third senior to be honored after starting on defense in every match this season. She has logged over 1000 minutes played, recording one goal and three assists along the way. She wraps up her career with her first All-MAC selection.
Jover Llorens followed up last season's MAC Freshman of the Year performance by moving up to the All-MAC team. The midfielder started in all 17 matches this season, scoring one goal and picking up two assists. The defensive mid's highlight of the season came against Longwood, when the sophomore scored the game-winning goal in overtime.
Rodriguez Seto is Kent State's lone freshman honoree and a candidate for Freshman of the Year. The Barcelona native has started in every match this season, playing a key role on nearly every corner this season. She tallied eight assists and two goals, scoring against Saint Louis and Penn State. She had multiple assist matches against Ohio State and Central Michigan.
