-Â Â Â Â The Kent State University men's basketball team moves on to game two of the Savannah Invitational, competing against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions Tuesday in the M.A.C. Center.
-Â Â Â Â The Golden Flashes are looking to start 4-0 for the first time since 2014-15 and the second time under head coach Rob Senderoff. The Flashes are fresh off an 80-67 win over Mississippi Valley State to open up the Savannah Invitational.Â
-Â Â Â Â Following Tuesday night's game, Kent State will have a practice day on Wednesday before traveling on Thanksgiving Day to Savannah. Kent State will face Valparaiso Friday at 7 p.m. and Loyola Chicago Saturday at 5 p.m. After Tuesday, Kent State's next home game will take place Dec. 2 against Cleveland State.Â
-Â Â Â Â Through three games, Kent State has been a team earning contribution from several players. Nine players are averaging over five points a game, led by Jaylin Walker's 17.3 ppg. Seven of those players have already had at least one game scoring in double figures. Adonis De La Rosa has been a breakout star early, averaging a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, all while shooting 77 percent from the floor.Â
-Â Â Â Â The strong start keeps pace with the rest of the MAC, who as a conference, are a combined 27-11.
-Â Â Â Â This is the first matchup ever between Kent State and Southeastern Louisiana.Â
-Â Â Â Â The Lions enter the game at 1-3, with an opening season win over Centenary. Their recent skid has come at the hands of Tulane, Louisiana Monroe and Valparaiso.Â
-Â Â Â Â Junior Marlain Veal leads the team in scoring and assists with 14 points and 4.5 assists a game.
-Â Â Â Â Jay Ladner is in year four at Southeastern Louisiana, previously winning a JUCO national championship with Jones County Junior College.Â
