No. 10 Women's Golf in Texas for The Dickson

KENT, Ohio – The No 10 Kent State women's golf team returns to action this week at The Dickson, a tournament hosted by Houston Feb. 27-28 at the par-72 Tournament Course at The Woodlands Country Club.
The tournament will begin Monday with 36 holes of golf beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The tournament concludes Tuesday, with the final round starting again at 8 a.m. Live results will be available throughout the tournament.
The field fits the pattern in this year's schedule, pitting the Golden Flashes against the best teams in the nation. Along with hosts Houston, Kent State will face: No. 3 Florida State, No. 17 Texas A&M, No. 18 Purdue, No. 23 Oklahoma, TCU, Texas Tech, UNLV, SMU, Houston Baptist, North Texas, Texas State, Tulane, Tulsa, UTSA and St. Thomas (individual only).
The Flashes are fresh off a strong showing at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, in which the Flashes finished the three day tournament with a score of 14-over par 878 (293-293-292) to tie No. 8 Furman for second place. The Flashes finished one stroke behind North Carolina State for the championship. The field was among the toughest in the nation and Kent State hung with the best. The Flashes finished tied with the nation's eighth ranked team and ahead of four top-25 teams, including No. 5 Georgia and No. 9 Arkansas.
Kent State enters the week as the national leader in birdies, with a total of 286. Kent State's top ranked golfer, Pimnipa Panthong, is the national leader at 74. The team is also fifth in scoring average at 72.80, ahead of Florida, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.
