Kent State women's basketball is collecting donations on behalf of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund as the program readies for its annual Play4Kay game to be hosted on Saturday, February 18. Log on to https://support.kayyow.com/team/105126 to donate now.
Teams across the country host Play4Kay games every year to raise money for the organization that benefits women's cancer research. The fund began in 2007 on the vision of former women's basketball coach Kay Yow. Yow was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 and died from the disease in 2009. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund has donated more than $5.28 million to the cause in its first nine years.
Kent State's annual Play4Kay game will be when the team hosts Ohio on the 18th at 2 p.m. Fans are asked to wear pink to the game and free t-shirts will be given out to the first 150 students and first 100 fans. Both teams and staff will also be donning pink. Tickets for the game are available at kentstatesports.com or by calling the ticket office at 330-672-2244.
