
Jagers and Thomas Set for NCAA’s Biggest Stage

Kent State track and field's Reggie Jagers III and Danniel Thomas have made their way to College, Texas to represent the Golden Flashes in the 2017 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Texas A&M March 10-11.

Thomas, a redshirt senior, will be the first to see action as she competes in the women's shot put championships Friday beginning 6:15 p.m. EST. The ESPN3 broadcast of Friday's events will begin on 6:25 p.m. EST.
The Great Lakes Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year is the No. 2 seed in the field of 16 heading into Friday's competition. Her career-best mark of 18.32m (60' 1.25") is second-best in Division I this season behind Raven Saunders (19.10m) of Ole Miss.
Jagers, also a redshirt senior, gets in on the action Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. EST as he competes in the men's weight throw championships. The ESPN3 broadcast of Saturday's events will begin at 4:55 p.m. EST.
The MAC Men's Field Athlete of the Year heads into this weekend's championships as the No. 12 seed, coming off his career-best throw of 22.01m (72' 2.5") at the MAC Championships. Johnnie Jackson (23.56m) of LSU is the top seed going into Saturday's competition.
In both competitions, athletes with the top-nine marks in the preliminary rounds will advance to the finals, which will begin 10 minutes after the conclusion of the prelims.
A rebroadcast of this weekend's events is set for Sunday at 7:00 p.m. EST on ESPN3.
