KENT, Ohio – For the second straight night Kent State (23-12, 9-2) walked off, this time in the bottom of the ninth, as Tim DalPorto slapped a ball into left center to score the game-winning run, 3-2 over Toledo (13-25, 7-7).

In the final frame, Luke Burch was up with two outs and singled on a full count. After battling through an at-bat, Dylan Rosa walked to put two on. DalPorto then took the second pitch he was thrown and got a base hit to end the game.

It was another night of phenomenal pitching on both sides. Toledo's starter went 8.0 with one earned run and ten strikeouts while Zach Willeman went 6.2 in the start for the Flashes. He did not allow an earned run while giving up six hits, four walks and striking out four. Connor Wollersheim earned the win as he finished the final 2.1 innings on the mound with one hit, one walk and three strikeouts.

Both teams seemed to give up runs instead of earn them in this contest. Kent State committed five errors on the night, including two in the 7^th to allow the Rockets to score the first two tallies of the ballgame. The Golden Flashes would tie the game back up at two in the bottom of the frame when Josh Hollander singled and Mason Mamarella doubled to put two in scoring position. Hollander would scamper home on a wild pitch while Mamarella would score on a passed ball.

The Flashes had 12 hits in the game led by three from Mamarella. Burch, DalPorto, Dom Iero and Nick Kanavas all had two-hit days.

The final game of the series will be played on Sunday at 1 p.m.
