2017 Field Hockey Schedule Set

The 2017 field hockey schedule is set with another challenging slate ready for the Golden Flashes.

After an exhibition with Bucknell on Tuesday, August 15, Kent State will begin the season at Rutgers on Friday, August 25 and follow that with a game at Monmouth on Sunday, August 27. The team will remain on the road the following Friday at Saint Francis.

The Golden Flashes will play its first home game of the 2017 season on Sunday, September 3 with a 1 p.m. game versus Louisville. They will then host Ohio State on Wednesday, September 6.

Back on the road, Kent State will travel to Northwestern to play Temple on Saturday, September 9 and then the host on Sunday, September 10.

Mid-American Conference play will begin as the Flashes face MAC newcomer Appalachian State on the road on Friday, September 15. The team will remain in the south to play Liberty on Sunday, September 17.

Kent State travels again the following weekend to play Richmond at Saint Louis on Saturday, September 23 and the host Billikens the following day. Action returns to Kent on Friday, September 29 for the MAC rivalry with Miami. Penn State will also visit that weekend for a game on Sunday, October 1.

MAC play then heats up with trips to Ball State and Central Michigan on October 6 and October 14, respectively. The Golden Flashes will finish the season at home by hosting Longwood on Saturday, October 21 and Ohio on Saturday, October 28.

The 2017 MAC Tournament will once again be hosted by Kent State. The tournament is set for November 2-4. The Flashes have won the last three MAC Tournaments and have won at least a share of the MAC regular season title for the past five seasons.
