
Thomas Heading to Eugene Once Again

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kent State track and field's Danniel Thomas has earned her fourth-career trip to the NCAA Outdoor National Championships, as she took third-place in the discus at the NCAA East Prelims Friday in Lexington, Ky.
Thomas captured third-place with a throw of 55.44m (181' 11") on her first of three attempts and will look to become a three-time All-American in the discus when she heads to Eugene in two weeks. On Saturday, Thomas will compete in the shot put as the No. 2 seed, looking to qualify for the national championships in two events. Jai'Lyn Mosley also competed in the discus Friday, taking 43rd with a mark of 43.74m (143' 6").
Freshman Christian Champen finished three spots out from qualifying for the national championship in the pole vault. Champen exited the competition at a height of 5.15m (16' 10.75").
In the men's shot put, David Paliscak recorded a personal-record for the second meet in a row, throwing 17.76m (58' 3.25") to take 22nd place.
In the quarterfinals of the women's 400m hurdles, Taylor Farquhar took 23rd with a time of 1:00.70.
The NCAA East Prelims conclude Saturday as a total of five Golden Flashes are set to compete beginning with Trevor Detillion and Reggie Jagers III in the men's discus at 2 p.m.
