Women’s Track & Field Has 17 Named Academic All-MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Seventeen members of Kent State's women's track and field program were named to the 2017 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, as announced Wednesday morning.
In total, 170 student-athletes from around the conference garnered Academic All-MAC honors. Kent State's 17 selections are the third-most of the 12 teams in the conference. Miami led the MAC 21 selections, followed by Western Michigan with 18. Sam Tollerud is one of nine MAC competitors to hold a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport
Receiving the academic honor for the third time in their careers is Morgan Estes, Taylor Farquhar, Chelsea Laury, Ada Nicholson-Burley, Jorian Ordway and Danniel Thomas. Lauren Burnett, Hannah Fleck, Olivia Gaus, Rebecca Leppelmeier, Jai'Lyn Mosley, Lauren Pannell and Tollerud are now two-time recipients.
First time recipients for the Golden Flashes include Morgan Arena, Olivia Davis, Maria Horrigan and Tyler Williams.
