Bookman and Dunlap Lead Flashes at RedHawk Rumble

OXFORD, Ohio – The Kent State men's and women's cross country teams competed at the RedHawk Rumble on Saturday.
Freshman Maddie Dunlap finished third for the second time in as many collegiate races to lead the women in the 6k race. Sophomore Clark Bookman took fifth in the men's 8k race.
Running in her first 6k, Dunlap recorded a time of 22:28.7. Junior Morgan Arena (23:57.4) placed 18th, freshman Nicole Fleming (23:58.1) finished 19th and redshirt sophomore Olivia Davis (24:02.0) placed 20th and
Bookman bested his previous collegiate 8k personal-best by more than 10 seconds with a time of 25:55.2. Redshirt sophomore Sam Goodman (26:24.0) finished 11th, freshman Sam Michael (27:10.4) came in 16th, sophomore Josh Gogan (27:17.2) took 18th and junior Brandon Avers (27:27.0) finished 20th.
The Golden Flashes will hit the halfway point of the season at the All-Ohio Championships on Friday, Sept. 29, hosted by Cedarville University.
