Panthong Selected for 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup

ORLANDO, Fla. - Kent State sophomore Pimnipa Panthong (Nakhon Sawon, Thailand) was one of just 10 golfers selected to play for the international team at the 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup. The announcement was made live on Golf Channel at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club and Lodge.
"We couldn't be more thrilled to have Pim represent Kent State on the international side in the Palmer Cup," said Kent State head Coach Greg Robertson. "It's a great honor to be selected to such a prestigious event, because there are so many tremendous college golfers right now. This is a reflection of her solid play over the last year-and-a-half, which is a result of her hard work and dedication."
Kent State will be well represented at the Arnold Palmer Cup as Golden Flashes' men's head coach Herb Page will team up with Stanford women's head coach Anne Walker, serving as head coaches of the international team.
The annual Ryder Cup-style competiÂtion will be played July 6-8 at Evian Resort Golf Club in France. The 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup will be the first using the expanded format of United States men's and women's collegiate golfers versus their counterparts from around the world. Â It is the only major tournament in the world that features men's and women's players. Â Â
Panthong is coming off third her career tournament victory this week at the BYU at Entrada Classic. Last year she was named Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Year and earned WGCA All-America Second Team honors.
