KENT STATE GAME NOTES
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Kent State University men's basketball team returns to Cleveland for the MAC Tournament and take on Ball State in the quarterfinals Thursday, March 8.ย Kent State defeated the #12 Northern Illinois at home on a buzzer beating shot by Kevin Zabo. The Golden Flashes are looking to repeat as tournament champions and earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3ย and the Kent Stats IMG Sports Network.

-ย ย ย Sophomore forward Danny Pippen continued his dominance on the defensive end of the floor. He rejected six NIU shots, which puts him in a tie for second for the most blocked shots in a MAC Tournament Game.ย
-ย ย ย The Flashes had assists on half of their made baskets against the Huskies.
-ย ย ย KSU played stellar defense holding NIU to just 35% shooting from the floor.
-ย ย ย Kent State's win over NIU improved head coach Rob Senderoff's record to 66-38 in overtime games or games decided by five points or fewer, the Flashes are 8-2 those games this year.
-ย ย ย The Golden Flashes have a 39-29 (57% winning percentage) all-time record in the MAC Tournament.ย
-ย ย ย Kent State leads the all-time series against Ball State, 44-39. The Flashes have won 15 of the last 16 games. The two teams split the season series. KSU is 18-10 in the third game of a series in the MAC Tournament since 2001-02.
-ย ย ย Jaylin Walker leads the team in scoring (16.7 ppg) and scored has scored in double-digits 15 of the last 16 games. He has 1,191 career points which is 18th in program history. He also ranks sixth in threes (196) in school history. Walker was named to the All-MAC Third Team.
