Reese Claims Another MAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week Award

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State redshirt senior Riak Reese has been named the Mid-American Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Drake Relays, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. The Gahanna, Ohio native has now been honored with the weekly award from the conference seven times this year including the four awards he won during the indoor season.
Reese clocked a 10.14 in the 100-meter dash prelims on Friday, which is the 12th-fastest time in the country and then battled a headwind of 2.3 meters per second to claim victory in the finals on Saturday with a time of 10.63. He also ran the final leg for Kent State's 4x100 relay team that placed fourth with a time of 40.78.
The Golden Flashes will compete at the Campbell/Wright Invitational in Akron for the final regular season weekend on Friday and Saturday.
