
No. 16 Women’s Golf Advance to Final Medal Round

STILLWATER, Okla.- The No. 16 Kent State women's golf maintained its top-10 ten position on the third day of medal play at the NCAA Championships, finishing eighth to close out the weekend and qualifying as one of 15 teams for Monday's final round.
Kent State shot a team score of 8-over par 296, placing the Flashes in eighth overall heading into Monday's final round, in which eight teams will qualify for the start of match play on Tuesday.
Anchoring the Flashes today was Karoline Stormo who was the only member of the squad to shoot under-par in the third round, shot a 1-under 71. Stormo's third round was an improvement of 10 shots from Friday's opening 81 and 19 shots better than the 90 she fired on Saturday. On the day she made just three bogeys, which were offset by the four birdies she had. For the tournament, Stormo sits in a tie for 120th at 26-over par.
Michaela Finn had a solid day today and carded her best round of golf with a 2-over 74 score. Finn went 15 holes for par or better, with a birdie on the seventh hole. She finished the back-nine with 7 straight pars. Finn sits in a tie for 49th at 10-over par 82.
Chloe Salort finished the third round with a 3-over par 75 and is tied for 53rd for the tournament at 9-over par. Salort had two back-t0-back birdies on No.11 and 12 and closed on her final three holes with straight pars. Tied for 49th is Kory Nielsen at 10-over par 82 for the tournament. Nielsen finished the third round at 4-over par 76 with two birdies on the No.4 and par-5 No. 9 hole. On the back nine, Nielsen went 8 holes for par.
Alabama leads the field at two-under 862. UCLA is eight strokes off the pace in second at 870, followed by Arizona (880), Northwestern (882) and USC (885) rounding out the top five.
