
Crowdfunding Campaign Coming to an End

Kent State's current crowdfunding campaign, which has raised over $120,000, comes to an end this week. The new initiative started by The Golden Flashes Club, began on Oct. 10, 2017, and includes 16 team campaigns. Â
Fans and supporters of the Golden Flashes have until Thursday, May 10, at 11:59 p.m., to make final contributions to the campaign. The university is pleased to accept donations of any amount to support a multitude of diverse projects.
Over 800 gifts were received in amounts that ranged between $5 and $4,000.
Kent State coaches requested funding for various projects that were needs within their program and over 670 donors have contributed to a KSU team's campaign, which include:
- Baseball: New rubber flooring for the home dugout and clubhouse enhancements
- Softball: New exterior windscreen at The Diamond at Dix Stadium
- Track & Field/Cross Country: Updated uniforms
- Golf: Donations support summer school aid, fifth-year aid, cost of attendance, travel, nutritional needs, and facility upgrades
- Gymnastics: New competition landing mats
- Football: Coach's start-up campaign for head coach Sean Lewis to fund needs of the program
- Lacrosse: Start-up campaign to fund needs of the new program
- Soccer: Two HD video cameras and video analytic software
- Volleyball: Locker room improvements
- Wrestling: After-work out protein replacement shakes and a new locker room couch
- Women's Basketball: Updated Players' lounge
- Men's Basketball: Team iPads
- Field Hockey: A third film review software licensure to allow the entire coaching staff to analyze film
- Student-Athlete Wellness: A skierg machine and therapeutic modality
- Cheer: Trip to compete at the cheerleading nationals tournament in Daytona, Florida
- Dance: Trip to compete at the dance nationals tournament in Daytona, Florida
