
KSU Leads MAC With 11 All-Academic Players

Group of players all had GPAs above 3.20
KENT, OHIO – Kent State had a league-high 11 players named to the 2018 Baseball Academic All-MAC squad, the Mid-American Conference recently announced.
Champions of both the league regular season and tournament, the Golden Flashes placed 11 student-athletes on a squad whose requirements are at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and participation in 50 percent of the team's games. KSU led the league in Academic All-MAC players while CMU, Toledo, OU and WMU each had eight. Kent State finished the season with 40 wins.

Chris Martin – 4.0 – Exercise Physiology
Zach Schultz – 3.975 – Actuarial Mathematics
Jared Skolnicki – 3.936 – Actuarial Mathematics
Robert Zeigler – 3.733 – Organizational Communications
Mason Mamarella – 3.716 – Marketing
Reilly Hawkins – 3.623 – Business
Nick Kanavas – 3.307 – Political Science
Connor Wollersheim – 3.359 – Communications
Pete Schuler – 3.241 – Organizational Communications
Josh Hollander – 3.222 – Business Management
The league recognized nearly 70 players for their athletic and academic accomplishments. KSU continued its long-standing tradition of excelling both on the field and in the classroom. The team recently had four players drafted and a fifth sign a free agent professional contract.
